Manual Verification Instructions

For the Lottery to verify your identify and/or address, send a copy of one document from each list below, plus the email address you use for your 2nd Chance account, to:

California State Lottery—Attn: Customer Service, 730 North 10th Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

 

Identification documents

  • State-issued driver’s license
  • Passport
  • State-issued ID card
  • Travel visa
  • Permanent resident card
  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Official name change certificate
  • Tribal identification
  • Certificate of naturalization or citizenship
  • U.S. Government employee identification

Address verification documents

  • Utility bill
  • Renter’s agreement
  • Mortgage statement

What if I changed my name?

If you recently changed your name, we recommend waiting until your new legal name is on your government-issued ID. Or, follow the manual verification instructions above, and make sure your identification documentation, such as your marriage license, reflects your name change.

How long does it take to verify my account manually?

Manual verification usually takes about 10 business days. To keep you safe, we will destroy your documents after we finish.
